For the first few days, nobody comes and all the equipment in the school from chair to blackboard went missing. With Ucok’s help all kids who live there go to school as long as Toni, Bubu, Saras, and Aghi pay them. As they get closer to the kids and the environment they live inToni and his friends realize that this project is more than winning national essay competition, they want each child at least able to read so they can have a better life than begging for money in the street.

Directed by Ardy Octaviand this movie successfully shows the issue of bullying and social inequality in Indonesia. Made to commemorate anti-bullying day Stip dan Pensil use hashtag #SekolahTanpaBullying (school without bullying) and #KangenSekolah (miss school) for their promotion. The actors themselves are the victims of bullying; Ernest and Indah were bullied because of their look while Ardhit was ignored because he’s a quite boy and Tatjana was a victim of money bully.

Written by Joko Anwar, Ernest Prakasa and Beno Raja Gukguk this movie will not only entertain but also inspire the audience by opening their eyes that out there-there are a lot of children that have no access to get proper education and we have the power to help them. I myself feel so grateful when I watch the movie considering the fact I have the chance to have a proper education and live comfortably without worry.

If you haven’t watched this movie, I recommend you to watch. In the end, I’m happy I didn’t turn down the chance to watch the movie and will likely watch another Indonesian movie.
